Return Policy

In the field of cosmetics, in accordance with Article 16 of Emergency Ordinance No. 34/2014 on consumer rights in contracts concluded with professionals, the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for Orders relating to the supply of goods that have been unsealed after delivery, which can no longer be returned for reasons of hygiene or health protection.


Therefore, the Buyer acknowledges that he will not be able to exercise his legal right of withdrawal with regard to products unsealed by him, the re-marketing of which by Girls Own Cosmetics could pose risks for reasons of hygiene or health protection for consumers (for example: skin/hair care products, makeup, etc.).

The following are not accepted for return:

  • Products that have been opened
  • Products that have been tested/used
  • Products that do not have intact labels, have broken or erased seals
  • Products purchased from other stores
  • Products not accompanied by documents proving purchase (invoice or receipt)
  • Products with packaging damaged in any way

These measures are specific to cosmetic products as their shelf life is calculated from the first opening of the packaging, and with their use/testing there is a risk of transmitting bacteria by transferring the product to another person.


If the cosmetic product meets the above conditions, contact Customer Relations at office@girlsowncosmetics.ro regarding your desire to return it, and you will be contacted by an operator to indicate the next steps.


The products must be returned in the original packaging, with the invoice attached, in exactly the same condition in which they were received by the customer. We reserve the right to refuse the return only after the products have been checked and do not meet the return conditions. The return fees in this case are the responsibility of the customer. If the return is resolved with the refund of the value of the products, the reimbursement will be made by bank transfer to the account indicated by you in the return request, within 10 days of receipt of the products. The return fees are borne by the customer and paid in advance, except in cases where the product is damaged upon receipt or you receive a different product than the one you ordered, in these cases the shipping fee is borne by us.


We do not accept packages with cash on delivery or whose sender cannot be identified. We are not responsible for packages lost or damaged in transit. We do not pick up packages from the Romanian Post Office or any other post office.


In the case of non-cosmetic products sold by us, the return period is 14 days, starting from the receipt of the products.

Decrease in the value of returned goods (According to GEO No. 34/2014 Art. 14, Paragraph 3)

Since, in the case of distance sales, the consumer does not have the possibility to see the goods before the conclusion of the contract, he has the right to withdraw. For the same reason, the consumer is allowed to test and check the goods he has purchased to the extent necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.


In order to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods, the consumer must handle and inspect them in the same way as he would be allowed to do so in a real physical store. For example: the consumer only needs to try on an item of footwear, not wear it on various occasions / the consumer needs to test that a product works, not use it for a period of time. The consumer must handle and inspect the goods with due care.


You are only responsible for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than that necessary to determine the nature, qualities and functioning of the goods.

The accepted manipulations to determine the nature, quality and functioning of the goods are:

  • Unpacking without destroying or damaging the original packaging, following the unpacking instructions (where the manufacturer indicates the handling method) without damaging the packaging, product or accessories;
  • Visual, tactile and olfactory inspection (when the provisions below are not violated) of the products;

If a consumer exercises his right of withdrawal after having used the goods to an extent that exceeds the limit necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods, the consumer is liable for any diminished value of the goods.

Unacceptable actions that lead to a decrease in the value of the returned product or the loss of the right of withdrawal:

  • Breaking or damage to the original packaging (the original packaging is an integral part of the product);
  • Scratching, soiling, staining, impregnation of products with foreign substances, breakage;

As a result, when you return a product, you are required to return it with the original undamaged packaging, protected by wrapping with stretch plastic packaging film or packed in a cardboard box (without labels stuck on it, without cuts, tears, etc.) and together with all its accessories.


In the event of withdrawal from the contract, the consumer is only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling of the goods, other than that necessary to determine the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods. If the returned goods have damaged or incomplete original packaging, signs of wear, scratches, dents, missing accessories, the consumer is liable for any diminished value of the goods. Before returning the product, please protect the original packaging with stretch plastic packaging film or a cardboard box. Do not cut the original packaging and do not stick labels or tape on it.


The value of used products, with signs of wear (stains, scratches, bends, cracks, bumps, etc.) is accepted for return only after they have been brought into conformity, involving the costs of sanitation, cosmetic treatment, repair and bringing them to a commercial form for sale as a Reconditioned / Refurbished product. The final value is established according to the value of the reconditioning labor or as the difference between the initial value of the new product and the resale value of the used product.


The value of products with damaged original packaging (wrinkled and/or torn and/or cut and/or perforated and/or wet cardboard and/or with traces of labels, adhesive tape, pen, marker, etc.) is reduced by the value of bringing it into compliance.


Any change in the condition of the products or damage to their original packaging that makes it impossible to sell the product as new, automatically leads to the application of the return procedure subject to fees for returning the products to the condition in which they were delivered. The reduction applies between 10%-90% of the initial value of the product. The reduction fee will be communicated to the customer upon receipt of the modified products.


The returned product must be accompanied by the original invoice, if issued by the manufacturer/distributor, except for those issued in electronic format.


If the returned products were accompanied by any bonuses/gifts, these must also be returned. Otherwise, their value will be deducted from the return amount.


Art. 14, Paragraph 3: “The consumer is only liable for any diminished value of the products resulting from their handling, other than what is necessary to determine the nature, characteristics and functioning of the products.”

These limitations apply according to GEO 34/2014 art. 16.
